A Permanent Presence
Koch FM is still on air. The Resource Centre is still training. The Material Recovery Facility is rising from Korogocho’s own ground. Miss Koch Kenya has spent its whole life building things that outlast funding cycles. Here is how you can be part of what comes next.

WHAT WE’VE BUILT
Koch FM 99.9
Kenya’s first community radio station, giving the urban poor a voice on air. Still broadcasting.
The Resource Centre
Where Korogocho’s young people continue to train.
A LOT-Change
A long-running research partnership with APHRC. Published findings show mentoring improves school transition and exam performance.
The Material Recovery Facility
Korogocho’s first. Green jobs, cleaner ground, community-owned.
The DJ Academy
A youth talent pipeline that began as a studio and grew into a training ground.
Kizazi Amani
Peace leadership that reached far beyond the settlement.
From a community radio mic in Korogocho, to the Nairobi County adolescent health framework, to memos before the National Assembly on the Finance Bills, MKK’s work travels from the ground to the systems that shape it.
Why it Works Here
MKK began in 2001 when young people in Korogocho answered fear with a beauty pageant and a rallying cry: “Never say Die, Yes We Can.” That instinct has never changed. People who live with a problem are the ones best placed to solve it.
That’s why MKK is rooted (Korogocho youth solving Korogocho problems), why it builds (assets that stay when funding moves on), why it works from evidence (research that has been published, not just promised), and why it advocates (so that change reaches policy, not just a single street).
When you support MKK, you aren’t funding an outsider’s idea of Korogocho. You’re backing Korogocho’s own answer.
Ways to Support
Not everyone gives the same way. Pick the route that fits you.

Give
For individuals who want to contribute directly, once or regularly.
Sponsor a young person’s education
Back MKK’s long-running scholarship and mentoring programme, which supports learners through secondary school and into tertiary study. Past supporters include corporate donors, foundations and individuals, and the programme’s annual dinner brings partners and stakeholders together.

Fund a programme
Support a specific strand of work: safe spaces and daycare for adolescent mothers (Empower Her, Promote), the talents and entrepreneurship pathway, or the Material Recovery Facility.
Partner with us (corporate, foundation, government)
MKK works through multi-year partnerships and welcomes conversations with public and private foundations, support organisations and businesses. Existing partners include HP Dawda Foundation, Child Fund Kenya (multi-year MOU), Team Pankaj, Atari Gaming and AICS

Volunteer or intern
MKK is a lean organisation that runs largely on volunteers and interns. If you have time and skills, there’s real work to do.
Give your skills
Legal, design, media, finance, research. MKK already benefits from pro bono supporters, and welcomes more.

Host or join a fundraiser
Bring friends, colleagues or a community together around MKK’s work. The annual scholarship dinner is the signature event.
Become an ambassador
Carry MKK’s story into your own networks
