A Permanent Presence

Koch FM is still on air. The Resource Centre is still training. The Material Recovery Facility is rising from Korogocho’s own ground. Miss Koch Kenya has spent its whole life building things that outlast funding cycles. Here is how you can be part of what comes next.

WHAT WE’VE BUILT

Koch FM 99.9

Kenya’s first community radio station, giving the urban poor a voice on air. Still broadcasting.

The Resource Centre

Where Korogocho’s young people continue to train.

A LOT-Change

A long-running research partnership with APHRC. Published findings show mentoring improves school transition and exam performance.

The Material Recovery Facility

Korogocho’s first. Green jobs, cleaner ground, community-owned.

The DJ Academy

A youth talent pipeline that began as a studio and grew into a training ground.

Kizazi Amani

Peace leadership that reached far beyond the settlement.

From a community radio mic in Korogocho, to the Nairobi County adolescent health framework, to memos before the National Assembly on the Finance Bills, MKK’s work travels from the ground to the systems that shape it.

Why it Works Here

MKK began in 2001 when young people in Korogocho answered fear with a beauty pageant and a rallying cry: “Never say Die, Yes We Can.” That instinct has never changed. People who live with a problem are the ones best placed to solve it.

That’s why MKK is rooted (Korogocho youth solving Korogocho problems), why it builds (assets that stay when funding moves on), why it works from evidence (research that has been published, not just promised), and why it advocates (so that change reaches policy, not just a single street).

When you support MKK, you aren’t funding an outsider’s idea of Korogocho. You’re backing Korogocho’s own answer.
